Recycle -
Go Green it is every where and these days people are taking it to heart! Not only is
Hollywood movie stars wearing vintage and recycling but people around the globe are wearing vintage. Whether your into the 20's flapper to the swing era, disco or retro, there is a fashion of vintage for everyone. Super!

Read what some are saying about
wearing vintage .
Although vintage fashion is on the rise and shoppers are finding it to be VERY fashionable.
Shop carefully. Not everything that is presented as vintage is "
vintage", and authentic. So shop wisely and shop safe. Over the past couple of months there has been quite a bit of talk about some of the vintage clothing that is presented on EBay, actually some of the sellers are presenting some of the clothing as a "vintage" piece and it is simply
not. Let's take for instance a
20's flapper dress. There seems to be quite a debate on what makes a true flapper dress and what is simply a 80's or modern day
Mardi Gras Ball Gown over on the
EBay VCA. You can search for the threads, but you have to be quick to read because they seem to disappear fast!
Also buyers really need to pay attention when your purchasing a famous designer label, know what the designer typically uses in the construction of their garments. For instance when purchasing a designer label dress, would the designer use velcro in the construction of a $1K-$2K dress? I don't think so!
Buyers also need to pay attention to the labels inside of the garments. If the size label does not match up with the actual physical measurement size of the garment your purchasing, ask questions before purchasing. There has been some talk on the VCA about this kind of activity happening! WOW! Blows my mind, how about yours?
I know all of the above sounds so scary, while purchasing vintage clothing and wanting to go Green and Recycle. One thing I have learned over the years as a seller and a buyer of vintage clothing. Learn your dealers. This doesn't happen over night through the Internet but you can learn who has a great reputation as a seller and who has shady business practices. If purchasing on eBay, for vintage clothing. ALWAYS look at the feedback. Research and see if the seller belongs to a community of other reputable sellers. For instance vintage clothing communities like the
eVintage Society,
Vintage Fashion Guild, etc. If you suspect that a seller is participating in any type of illegal sales, and misrepresenting their merchandise, it is best to
report, the seller to eBay, and I am sure just as eBay follows through with reports on the community discussion boards that they will immediately take action and protect their reputation as a venue for the sellers and buyers to meet.
Then of course there is always other website off of eBay. Check them out too! Make sure the site is
Hacker Safe with your personnel information.
Anyway enough of all of the shopping tips, and buyers beware, let's Go Green and Recycle that
vintage clothing!
